PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED ACCOUNTS
WHAT ARE PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED ACCOUNTS?
Professionally Managed Accounts are a specific type of investment vehicle offered by licensed financial services firms (such as GTL Capital Management) that provide a fully managed and flexible trading service to individuals, Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSF), hedge funds and institutions looking to diversify their investment portfolios.
Managed Discretionary Accounts (MDAs) and Managed Accounts (MAs) are not an innovative investment prospect, far from it, but they are fast becoming part of a prudent investment strategy for many sophisticated investors. Demand for MDA and MA products is ever increasing due to their clear and transparent fee structure, consistent documented performance and proven strategies. With the availability of daily statements and a direct link to your account adviser/trader it makes MDAs and MAs an attractive investment option.
WHY CHOOSE A PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED ACCOUNT?
Managing an investment portfolio requires extensive market experience and above all time. Effective investment management requires constant monitoring to take advantage of up to date information and capitalise on opportunities. Our MDA and MA services are designed to make those imperative decisions on your behalf. Our role is to seek profitable opportunities in the markets and act on them so you don’t have to and we let our performance speak for itself.

EXCHANGE TRADED DERIVATIVES
MANAGED DISCRETIONARY ACCOUNT (MDA)

GTL Capital Management employs a patient and disciplined approach with our Exchange Traded Derivatives MDA, in order to achieve successful performance on a quarterly basis.
Whilst waiting for opportunities rather than being forced into trades, GTL has a performance objective that targets an “Absolute Return” for our clients. By absolute return we mean that, unlike traditional asset managers who try to track and outperform a benchmark (a reference index such as the Dow Jones or S&P 500) we typically employ a variety of strategies in order to produce a positive return regardless of the direction and the fluctuations of capital markets.
INVESTMENT STRATEGY
The Global Volatility Options Strategy exploits the bias between implied and realised volatility through quantitative models, which define under and over-priced volatility, among the underlying asset classes to build a non-directional long / short volatility portfolio.
The quantitative model identifies when the implied volatility of an underlying asset class is at a premium to historic volatility. Analysis focuses on the relationship of implied volatility, as a function of the price of options over the underlying asset, in which options pricing disparities can occur.
The trading approach is a patient one, looking to harness market volatility rather than being forced in to directional trades, for the wrong reasons. The asset classes of the Strategy’s investment need to be liquid markets. The strategy trades in the following contracts: Metals; Gold, Silver, Platinum, Copper, Energy; Crude oil, Heating oil, unleaded gasoline, Natural gas and Global stock market indexes.
FEE SCHEDULE:
- Performance Fee: 20% of profit calculated quarterly
- Administration Fee: 2% p.a. calculated daily
- Minimum Investment: AUD 50,000

INVESTMENT STRATEGY
The Commodity Calendar Spread Strategy is a calendar spread-based trading system for futures contracts trading in a select group of US and Australian futures markets. This investment strategy looks for absolute returns, for all investors. By absolute return we mean that, unlike traditional asset managers who try to track and outperform a benchmark (a reference index such as the Dow Jones or S&P 500) we typically employ a variety of strategies in order to produce a positive return regardless of the direction and the fluctuations of capital markets.
The Strategy seeks to take advantage of price movements referred to as the price differential between identical futures contracts but with different expiry months i.e. calendar spreads. The basis for entry and exit of these commodity pairs has two primary triggers; historical seasonal statistics specific to each commodity and technical analysis. As the spread is over the same underlying commodity many factors which would affect the pricing of both is naturally hedged by having offset contracts. The Strategy uses only exchange-listed calendar spreads from the CME Group of Exchanges, ICE and the Sydney Futures Exchange.
FEE SCHEDULE:
- Performance Fee: 20% of profit calculated monthly
- Administration Fee: 2% p.a. calculated daily
- Minimum Investment: AUD 20,000

INVESTMENT STRATEGY
The Global Market Trends Strategy is based on technical analysis and follows trend and price momentum in the underlying markets. This investment strategy looks for absolute returns, for all investors.
The Strategy seeks to take advantage of price momentum which can follow periods of pent up activity between market participants and can represent waves of price action that show recognisable patterns.
The objective of the strategy is to capture the reduced correlation diversification between independently trending markets. The strategy trades in major currency pairs, cross-rate currency pairs, commodities and global cash market index futures contracts, on short to medium term time scales.
